La sculpture Transmigration fait suite à l’ensemble des pièces réalisées en hommages aux migrants.
Transmigration est une allégorie du transfert de l’âme du migrant d’un corps à un autre. Bien souvent les difficultés rencontrées par les migrants sont telles qu’ils doivent abandonner tout dans leur pays d’origine, famille, amis, culture. Si leur immigration réussie ils doivent alors « renaître » et se reconstruire dans un nouveau corps social.
Le corps de ce migrant est porté par un vol d’hirondelles. Les hirondelles sont des oiseaux migrateurs extrêmement courageux et résistants, malgré leur poids plumes (moins de 20 gr.), elles parcourent chaque année plus de 10 000 Km lors de leur migration hivernale. Dans nombres de cultures, l’hirondelle symbolise la fécondation et la renaissance.

The sculpture Transmigration is a continuation of all the pieces produced in homage to migrants.
Transmigration is an allegory of the transfer of the migrant’s soul from one body to another. Quite often the difficulties encountered by migrants are such that they must abandon everything in their country of origin: family, friends, culture. If their immigration is successful, then they must be “reborn” and reconstruct themselves in a new social body.
The body of this migrant is being carried by a flight of swallows. Swallows are extremely brave and resilient migratory birds. Despite being light as a feather (less than 20 grams), each year they travel over 10,000 km during their winter migration. In a number of cultures, the swallow symbolises fertility and rebirth.
