Le titre de cette sculpture est emprunté aux indiens Huichol peuplant les hautes sierras Mexicaines. La Mythologie Huichol est un univers riche et complexe, nourrie de croyance envers des êtres divins, humains, animaux ou végétaux. Le cerf occupe une place primordiale, il est l’esprit auxiliaire des chamanes, il se nomme Kauyumari, et surnommé « Notre-Frère-Aîné-Qui-Marche-à-l’Aube ».
Cette sculpture est une image sortie d’un rêve doux et silencieux. Face à la situation écologique préoccupante Notre frère ainé qui marche à l’aube apporte une note d’espoir sous forme d’une union magique entre l’Homme et la nature.

The title of this sculpture is borrowed from the Huichol Indians living in the Mexican high sierra. Huichol mythology is a rich and complex universe, nourished by beliefs in divine beings, humans, animals and plants. The deer holds a critical place, as the spirit that assists shamans; it is named Kauyumari, and nicknamed “Our-Older-Brother-Who-Walks-at-Dawn.”
This sculpture is an image deriving from a sweet and silent dream. In view of our worrisome ecological situation, Notre frère ainé qui marche à l’aube offers a note of hope in the form of a magic union between Man and nature.
